Concrete & Interlocking Sealer Removal
Don't let just anyone work on your expensive decorative concrete or natural stone. We have extensive experience removing sealers, and have seen numerous locations where contractors have tried chemically removing sealer with paint stripper, acids or zylene! These chemicals can damage the concrete or stone, as well as other surfaces in the immediate area such as painted trim, cabinetry and stainless appliances. Further to this, none of the contractors we have seen do containment of the waste water when they pressure wash off these chemicals. It doesn't matter if the products used were "green" or "eco-friendly", the waste water does not belong down the storm drain!
Our process is done dry, mainly so we can see easily what we are doing as we progress. It is also much easier to clean up than a pile of wet sand or glass! Yes, it is extremely dusty, but our blended media does not hurt your surfaces, and more importantly, the environment. The debris is easily broomed and shoveled up, as well as washed off your plants and lawn. We recommend pressure washing the surface which had the sealer removed, as well as the immediate area surrounding (wall of home, windows, etc) after our process is completed. Once it has been thoroughly washed, you are ready to reseal.
For customers with interior surfaces requiring sealer removal, we work with PowerVac Services for containment of the debris. PowerVac will quote your specific requirements including covering and protecting walls, sealing off other areas in the structure and providing negative air units and vacuum units to remove the debris from your structure.
Notes on Decorative Concrete & Artificial Stone
Decorative concrete has a release agent in the valleys for definition and whether you blast, or chemical strip, a bit of this will be removed. decorative concrete is different than the cheaper stamped products that are sometimes applied on top of existing concrete. These thin, stamped, surface-applied, colored concrete products cannot be blasted. In addition, man-made artificial stones should not be blasted as it will open up the surface of these artificial stones.
